Electrician & Solar Installer in Caloundra
Caloundra is two housing markets in one postcode, and the electrical work splits the same way. The older beachside pockets around Kings Beach, Moffat Beach and Dicky Beach still hold homes built well before safety switches were mandatory, where salt air has been working on the switchboard and the outdoor isolators for decades. Then there are the newer estates inland, including the Aura precinct at Caloundra South, where the board is already modern and the job is adding a battery or an EV charger rather than fixing the bones first. We work across both every week, so the quote you get reflects which one you have.
- Solar and battery sized for coastal homes
- Switchboard upgrades on older beachside houses
- Battery and EV charger retrofits in the newer estates
- Storm-season emergency callouts

Electrical work in Caloundra
Kings Beach to Dicky Beach: the older streets
The beachside pockets from Kings Beach through Shelly, Moffat and Dicky Beach hold some of the oldest homes on the coast, plus a wall of holiday units facing the water. Salt air is the constant. It corrodes switchboard terminals, outdoor isolators and air conditioning connections far faster than a few kilometres inland, and it is the most common cause of the nuisance tripping we get called to near the beach. Units and holiday lets add smoke alarm compliance and body corporate work; the houses add switchboard upgrades and rewires before anyone talks about solar.
Golden Beach, Pelican Waters and the canals
Along the Pumicestone Passage and through the Pelican Waters canals, homes sit right on salt water and often have a pontoon or jetty that needs its own properly protected supply. Enclosure ratings, isolator choice and where the inverter and battery are mounted all matter more here, so we would rather run a little more cable to a sheltered wall than mount gear where the salt eats it.
Aura, Baringa, Nirimba and Banya: the new estates
Caloundra South is the fastest growing part of the coast, and the homes there are new, so the board is modern and the job is the addition: a battery behind the builder's solar system, an EV charger on its own circuit, outdoor power, fans and lighting. We operate a second base in the new Aura precinct, so these estates are an everyday run rather than a trip.

What customers say
5.0 ★ rated on Google★★★★★
“I honestly wish I met Dan and Lara earlier, so professional, easy to deal with and very well priced. Far and above the other guys in the solar and battery game. Lara made sure we had all the correct data, and Dan did a site inspection before locking in pricing. The system is working brilliantly and the Fox app is so much better than our previous system. Highly recommend these guys.”
★★★★★
“Installed our solar battery, did a bang on job. Went above and beyond on the cabling too.”
★★★★★
“Very happy with battery and inverter install, attended as scheduled and did a great job.”
Caloundra electrical FAQs
Does my Caloundra home need a switchboard upgrade before solar or a battery?
It depends entirely on the age of the house. Older beachside homes often have boards without a safety switch on every circuit, or no room left for the new protection a battery needs, and those have to be sorted first. Homes in the newer Caloundra South estates are usually fine as they are. We look at your actual board and tell you which camp you are in before you commit to anything.
Is salt air really a problem this close to the water?
Yes, and it is the single most common thing we find on the older streets. Salt corrodes switchboard terminals, outdoor isolators and AC units far faster than a few kilometres inland, and corroded connections are a very common cause of nuisance tripping near the beach. It is one of the main things the $199 safety check is looking for.
How far from Caloundra are you based?
Our office and workshop are at 19/20 Brookes Street, Nambour, about 30 minutes up the road. Caloundra is one of the areas we are in most often, so faults and small jobs are usually same-day or next-day.
Do you cover Golden Beach, Pelican Waters and Aura as well?
Yes, all of them, plus Currimundi, Kings Beach, Moffat Beach, Dicky Beach, Battery Hill, Little Mountain and the Aura suburbs of Baringa, Nirimba and Banya. It is all the one 4551 run for us.
What warranty do you give on the work itself?
A lifetime workmanship warranty (conditions apply) on our installation, on top of whatever the manufacturer gives on the equipment. It also transfers once to the next owner if they tell us in writing within 60 days of settlement and the install has not been altered, running 10 years from completion, so the work stays covered even when you sell.
