Fox ESS CQ7 Battery Retrofit in Two Sizes
Already have solar? Add serious storage to it. Six or seven Fox ESS CQ7 modules with a Fox ESS 9.99kW single phase hybrid inverter, fully installed, with the federal battery rebate applied up front in your written quote.
What's included
Everything in the retrofit package.
- 6 or 7 Fox ESS CQ7 battery modules (41.76kWh or 48.72kWh usable)
- 1 x Fox ESS KH9.9 9.99kW single phase hybrid inverter
- Package applies to homes with a single phase supply
- Retrofit connection to your existing compliant solar PV system
- Standard installation (battery and inverter within 10m of the main switchboard)
- Testing and commissioning
- Federal battery rebate (STCs) applied up front in the price
Optional add-on, not part of the base deal. We check your switchboard, circuits and suitability first, then size backup to suit: whether that's whole-home or essential circuits only (fridge, lights, internet) depends on inverter output and your switchboard.
Conditions & what may be extra
- Existing solar PV system must be compliant and suitable for retrofit, confirmed by inspection before connection
- Backup power (EPS) is not included. Every switchboard and every set of protected circuits is different, so backup is designed and priced for your home after we have seen the board
- Switchboard must meet current requirements; upgrades are extra if required
- RCBO upgrades are extra if required
- Standard install assumes the battery and inverter are within 10m of the main switchboard ($50 per metre beyond); wall penetrations, difficult access, or rectifying non-compliant existing wiring/solar are extra
- DNSP / export limitation works are extra if required
- Final system design is subject to site inspection, DNSP requirements, STC eligibility, existing PV compatibility and compliance checks
- Prices apply to installs completed by 31 December 2026; the federal battery rebate steps down on 1 January 2027

Servicing the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and South East Queensland
Real installs, real local homes
A few recent solar, battery, switchboard and EV jobs across the Sunshine Coast & Brisbane. Every one handled by the licensed contractor.

Built by the Electrician, Not a Sales Team
Most solar companies are franchises or call centres that subcontract the actual install. Nuvolt is different. You deal with the licensed contractor who designs, installs and stands behind every system.
No sales reps
You speak directly to the licensed electrical contractor responsible for the design and install. No franchise rep, no call centre script.
Real electrical contractor
Daniel holds a current QLD electrical contractor licence (Lic# 92489) and is accredited with Solar Accreditation Australia (S6093214) to design and install both grid connected solar and grid connected battery systems. Nuvolt is a member of Master Electricians Australia.
Compliant installs
Every system is built to AS/NZS 3000, 5033 and 5139, with the appropriate Queensland electrical certificate provided on completion.
Clean switchboard work
Tidy layouts, proper labelling, RCBO protection, correct backup circuit separation. We treat the switchboard like a finished product, not an afterthought.
After-install support
We don’t disappear after handover. Monitoring, warranty support and any tweaks are handled directly by the installer.
Honest recommendations
Brand choice is based on your site, usage and warranty needs, not commission. We’ll happily talk you out of a bigger system when a smaller one does the job.

“I honestly wish I met Dan and Lara earlier, so professional, easy to deal with and very well priced. Far and above the other guys in the solar and battery game. Lara made sure we had all the correct data, and Dan did a site inspection before locking in pricing. The system is working brilliantly and the Fox app is so much better than our previous system. Highly recommend these guys.”
“Installed our solar battery, did a bang on job. Went above and beyond on the cabling too.”
“Very happy with battery and inverter install, attended as scheduled and did a great job.”
“I recently had a solar battery installed at my home, and I couldn't be happier with the service.”
“Had a battery and inverter installed by the team at Nuvolt and couldn't be happier. The workmanship was top notch.”
“Very neat and knowledgeable, great price as well for a local vs one of the big mobs, highly recommend.”

Common Questions
Straight answers on rebates, batteries, switchboards and grid connection, from the contractor actually doing the work.
Are you a real electrical contractor or a solar reseller?
Nuvolt is a licensed Queensland electrical contractor (Lic# 92489), not a sales franchise. Every quote, design and install is handled by the contractor directly.
Do you handle Energex approvals and grid connection paperwork?
Yes. We lodge the connection application, manage the export-limit configuration, and handle STC paperwork end-to-end so you don’t need to.
Can I add a battery to my existing solar system?
In most cases, yes. We assess your existing inverter, switchboard and load profile to recommend either a DC-coupled battery, an AC-coupled retrofit, or a hybrid inverter replacement.
Whole-home backup vs essential-circuit backup: what’s the difference?
Whole-home backup runs your entire switchboard during an outage and depends on inverter output, switchboard condition and load management. Essential-circuit backup runs only nominated circuits (fridge, lights, internet) and is usually simpler and cheaper to retrofit.
Do I need a switchboard upgrade for a battery?
Not automatically. A battery that just stores your solar and offsets your bills needs no safety switch upgrade. Board work is triggered by blackout backup, because every circuit the battery backs up during an outage must have a Type A RCBO, or by the board itself, such as ceramic fuses, an undersized main switch or no spare space for the new isolators. We assess it before quoting so the system is safe, compliant and practical.
What brands do you install?
Fox ESS, GoodWe, SolaX, SMA, Fronius, Enphase, Tesla, BYD, LG and other compliant inverters and batteries. The right choice depends on your site, usage and warranty priorities, not commission.
What about the federal battery rebate?
The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program reduces upfront battery costs from 1 July 2025. We design rebate-eligible systems sized to your actual usage. The final rebate value depends on the system specifications and your situation.
Do you offer finance or payment plans?
Yes. Through our finance partner Brighte, you can spread the cost of your solar, battery or electrical upgrade across low fixed-rate repayments via a Brighte Green Loan (from 9.49% p.a., comparison rate 10.98% p.a.), subject to approval. Just let us know you’re interested in finance when you request your quote and we’ll walk you through the options.
What warranty do you offer?
A lifetime workmanship warranty on our installation work, in addition to the manufacturer warranties on panels, inverters and batteries (typically 10 to 25 years depending on the product). The workmanship warranty covers the quality of our installation work; it does not cover product faults, fair wear and tear or natural deterioration, and conditions apply (see our Terms). If you sell the home, the workmanship warranty can transfer once to the new owner for 10 years from completion, provided they let us know in writing within 60 days of settlement.
