What does the $299 design visit include?

Do I get the $299 back?
Yes, if you go ahead within 30 days of the visit. The $299 (including GST) is then credited back in full off the installation. If you do not go ahead within 30 days, the $299 covers the visit, the testing and the written design, which is yours to keep.
What can still change a locked price?
Only four things: a change you ask for, something hidden that nobody could see on the day, a requirement Energex sets after we apply, or a change to the government rebate.
How long until I get my design and price?
Within 3 business days of the visit. The design is written for your roof, your switchboard and how you actually use power, so it gets done properly rather than on the tailgate.
Can I get a free estimate instead?
You can, and it is a different thing. A free estimate is worked out at our desk from your photos and power bill, back within 1 business day of receiving them. We can't estimate without photos, and it stays subject to confirmation from your photos before anything is ordered. We don't visit to estimate. The design visit is a licensed electrician at your home: you get a written design that is yours to keep and a fixed price that is locked in, and the $299 is credited back in full if you go ahead within 30 days of the visit.
I already have solar. Why test it first?
Because whatever we add has to work with what is already on the roof. We test the existing panels, inverter and wiring before designing around them, so the price covers anything that needs fixing rather than finding it on install day. That matters most when another installer put the system in.
Which areas do you cover?
Inside our service area the price is fixed. Further out, we quote travel before you book. Our service area runs from Caboolture and Bribie Island up to Noosa and across the hinterland to Maleny, from our Nambour and Caloundra bases. Enter an address outside that area in the booking form and we will confirm the travel charge with you before anything is paid, or call 0494 826 740.
How is this different from the $199 electrical safety check?
The $199 safety check is a 20 point check of your switchboard and home safety items, credited back in full if you go ahead with a solar or battery installation with Nuvolt within 30 days of the check. The $299 design visit is for solar and batteries: roof, switchboard, metering and usage checked, any existing system tested, a written design that is yours to keep and a locked in fixed price for the system.
Is there any obligation?
None. You get the written design and the locked in fixed price, and the decision is entirely yours. We never start work without your go ahead, and there is no pressure to spend a cent more than you choose to.
