Fox ESS is the brand on more Nuvolt installs than any other, and the H3 Pro is the top of that range. It is a 29.9kW three-phase hybrid with three MPPT trackers, 60kW of solar input and two separate battery inputs, so the storage can grow in two directions instead of one. Our headline build pairs it with a full seven-module CQ7 stack, 49.14kWh, and the inverter will take fourteen modules across its two inputs if you ever want to double it.

- Three-phase supply required. If the property is single phase today, a supply upgrade is a separate job and is quoted separately
- Network connection approval is required before installation. At this capacity the network will usually apply an export limit, which we confirm in writing as part of your quote
- Switchboard upgrades, metering changes and main-supply upgrades are extra if required
- Roof structure, access, tilt frames and long cable runs are assessed and quoted per site
- Quoted after eligible STC and federal battery rebates; eligibility and the final rebate value depend on your system, zone and situation
- Manufacturer warranties require the system to be registered with the manufacturer at commissioning, which we do for you
- Backup circuits are designed around your switchboard and loads. We nominate them with you and put them in writing before you sign, rather than promising whole-home backup and sorting it out later
- The battery stacks are floor standing, and a seven-module stack is about 358kg and stands 1,195mm tall. We check the location and the floor on site

H3-Pro-29.9 (AS4777-2 2020) is listed on the Clean Energy Council's approved inverter list, approved 21 January 2026 and current to 21 January 2029. That listing is what makes the system eligible for solar STCs and the federal battery rebate, alongside sign-off by our SAA accredited installer.

Three Phase Questions
Straight answers on the sizing, the network limits, backup and the rebates, from the licensed contractor doing the work.
Why 29.9kW and not 30kW?
Because 30kW is the line. Energex and Ergon both allow up to 30kW of inverter capacity on a three-phase connection under the same joint connection standards, so a 29.9kW inverter is the biggest one that keeps your connection application an ordinary one. Fox ESS make both a 29.9 and a 30.0 version of this inverter for exactly that reason, and in Queensland the 29.9 is the one you want.
What does having two battery inputs actually get me?
Room to grow, and flexibility about where things go. One battery input means one stack in one place, and when it is full it is full. The H3 Pro takes a stack on each input, up to fourteen CQ7 modules in total, so you can start with one stack of seven and add a second later without disturbing the first. It also means the two stacks do not have to sit in the same spot, which matters more than people expect when the only sensible wall is already taken.
How big can the CQ7 battery actually go?
Each CQ7 module is 7.02kWh with a 90% depth of discharge, and a stack runs from two modules up to fourteen, which is 98.28kWh. Our headline build is seven modules, 49.14kWh, because that sits just under the 50kWh line where the federal battery rebate stops counting. Beyond that the modules still work, they just stop being subsidised, so we size it to your usage and tell you where the line falls rather than selling you the biggest stack on the shelf.
Can I really put 60kW of panels on a 29.9kW inverter?
Yes, on a battery system. The rule that limits an array to a third more than the inverter comes from the CEC guidelines for grid-connected systems with no storage. Solar Accreditation Australia's guidelines allow you to exceed it on a battery system as long as the inverter manufacturer permits it, and STCs are claimable on the whole array. Fox ESS rate this inverter for a 60kW array across three MPPT trackers with two strings each, which also makes it forgiving of a roof with several orientations or a bit of shade.
Does it do blackout backup?
Yes. The H3 Pro has a 30kVA emergency power output that peaks at 36kVA for a minute, and it switches over in under ten milliseconds. Whether that covers the whole board or a nominated set of circuits depends on your switchboard and your loads, and we work that out with you and put it in writing before you sign. We would rather tell you exactly which circuits stay on than promise whole-home backup and hand you a surprise on the first blackout.
Is it rebate eligible?
Yes. The H3-Pro-29.9 is on the Clean Energy Council's approved inverter list, approved 21 January 2026 and current to 21 January 2029, and our installs are signed off by our SAA accredited installer. Eligible solar STCs and the federal battery rebate are applied up front in your written quote.
What warranties come with it?
Fox ESS cover the CQ7 battery modules with a 10-year warranty and the H3 Pro inverter with its standard manufacturer warranty, the Trina Vertex S+ panels carry a 25-year product and 30-year performance warranty, and our installation work is covered by our lifetime workmanship warranty (conditions apply, see our Terms). Manufacturer warranties only hold if the system is registered at commissioning, so we handle that registration for you.
How does it compare to the GoodWe three-phase system?
They land in much the same place and we install both. The Fox ESS is a wall-mounted inverter with separate battery stacks, so it is more flexible about layout and has two battery inputs to expand into. The GoodWe arrives as one integrated tower with whole-home backup switching built in, which makes for a tidier install. If your site is awkward or you expect to expand, look at the Fox ESS.
