Nuvolt Electrical Solutions is a licensed Queensland electrical contractor (Lic# 92489) working for builders across the Sunshine Coast and into Brisbane. We take the electrical package on new homes, duplexes, renovations, granny flats and sheds, on commercial fitouts, and on the heavier end as well: industrial and warehouse builds, plant rooms, and the data centre and AI compute buildings going up now. We run it the way a builder needs it run: a price against the plans, dates we hold, and the certificates in your hand at handover. Australian owned and operated, local crew, no overseas call centres.
Send Us The Plans, Get A Price In Writing
Drawings, electrical layout, the estate or the site, and your program dates. That is everything we need to price it properly, whether it is one house or a plant room. We answer the same business day.
The Electrical Package On Your Build
One lot or a run of them. Houses, fitouts, sheds, plant rooms and compute halls. If it needs wiring, it is work we do.
New homes
Single and double storey, slab or suspended, project homes through to architectural one-offs. Priced from your plans and electrical layout.
Duplexes & townhouses
Multi-unit residential with separate metering, common area lighting and the coordination that goes with more than one connection on a lot.
Renovations & extensions
Working into an existing installation, which usually means an old board, undersized mains and surprises behind the lining. We price the known and flag the rest before we start.
Knockdown rebuilds
Disconnection and abolishment through to the new connection, with the network side handled so demolition is not waiting on us.
Granny flats & secondary dwellings
Submains from the existing board or a new supply, separate metering where it is needed, and compliance with the current smoke alarm rules.
Sheds, carports & workshops
Submains, three phase where the machinery needs it, lighting and power designed for how the space is actually used.
Commercial fitouts
Shops, offices, clinics and hospitality. Distribution, lighting design, emergency and exit lighting to AS/NZS 2293, data and mechanical services power.
Refurbishments & upgrades
Reworking a live building in stages, with switchboard upgrades and lighting retrofits programmed around a tenant who is still trading.
Industrial & manufacturing
Plant and process buildings. Heavy distribution, motor circuits, variable speed drives, control wiring and the containment to carry it all.
Warehouses & distribution
High bay lighting, dock and yard power, cold storage circuits, three phase to the racking and machinery, and enough spare capacity for the next tenant.
Data centres & AI compute
High density power distribution, containment, structured data cabling, mechanical services power for cooling, and standby and UPS provisions.
Aged care, medical & education
Buildings that have to pass a commissioning inspection and keep running. Essential services, emergency and exit lighting, nurse call and data infrastructure.
Slab To Handover
We pick the job up at temporary supply and hand it back with the certificates. You should not have to manage the electrical trade through the middle of it.
Temporary builders supply
Site power organised early so the trades that follow are not running off a neighbour's lead. Pole, board and connection application handled.
Underground & slab
Conduits, consumer mains routes and any in-slab provisions set out and photographed before the pour, so nothing gets chased into new concrete later.
Rough-in
Full rough-in to plan after frame and before lining, cabling for power, lighting, data, air conditioning and any solar or EV provisions.
Switchboard & metering
Switchboard built to the load, Type A RCBOs where they belong, metering position agreed with the meter provider and the network application lodged.
Fit-off
Fittings, switches, outlets, fans and lighting fitted and tested once the painters are out, ready for the client walkthrough.
Energisation & connection
Connection paperwork with Energex, testing, energisation and the handover pack, coordinated against your practical completion date.
Certificates & handover
Certificate of testing and compliance issued digitally with per-circuit readings recorded, plus photo records against the job. No chasing paperwork at settlement.
Defects & warranty
Defect items attended inside the maintenance period, and a lifetime workmanship warranty on what we install (conditions apply, see our Terms).
Heavy Power And Serious Data Infrastructure
Plant rooms, warehouses, manufacturing, and the data centre and AI compute buildings going up now. These jobs are won on distribution, containment and cabling done properly the first time, and that is the work our crew came up through.

Cable ladder and tray built to scale

Variable speed drives and control gear

Motor overhaul on a plant shutdown

On site at a power station
Power in, power distributed
Consumer mains, main switchboards, distribution boards and submains sized for the real load rather than the load on the first drawing, with room left for what gets added later.
Containment done properly
Cable ladder, tray and basket set out so cabling is segregated, supported and accessible. On a plant room or a compute hall this is most of the job, and it is the part that is expensive to fix afterwards.
Structured data cabling
Copper and fibre backbone, racks, patch panels and labelling, tested and certified. The same discipline whether it is forty outlets in an office or a rack row that has to be traceable.
Cooling and mechanical services
Three phase power to chillers, CRAC and CRAH units, condensers and pumps, with the control and interlock wiring the mechanical contractor needs.
Standby, UPS and essential services
Generator and UPS provisions, changeover arrangements, essential services distribution and emergency and exit lighting to AS/NZS 2293.
Commissioning and evidence
Per circuit test results, thermal imaging across the boards under load, and photo records, so the handover pack proves the installation rather than asserting it.
Every photo above is our own work, not a stock library. More of it is on our gallery, and our data and communications page covers the cabling side in detail. If you are pricing something bigger than usual, ring us early and we will work the scope through with you before it goes into your tender.
You Are Buying A Trade You Do Not Chase
Anyone can quote a house. The cost of an electrician is the phone calls, the missed dates and the paperwork that never turns up.
A price off the plans
Send the drawings and the electrical layout and we come back with a written price against them, itemised the way your contract needs it.
Dates you can program
We tell you when we can be there and we hold it. If something moves at our end you hear it from us early, not from your supervisor on the day.
One number, one crew
A licensed electrician who knows your job answers the phone. No call centre, no chain of subcontractors, no starting the story again each time.
Variations in writing first
Nothing outside the scope gets done until it is priced and approved in writing, so there are no arguments at claim time.
Photo records on every stage
Before and after photos captured against the job, so a rough-in can be signed off without a trip to site.
Paperwork that arrives with the work
Certificates, test results and compliance documents issued on completion, not three weeks after you have asked twice.
Including The Solar And The EV Charger
Most electrical contractors hand the solar off to somebody else, and you end up coordinating two trades and refereeing between them when the inverter will not talk to the switchboard. We are SAA accredited for solar and battery design and install as well as being a licensed electrical contractor, so the whole energy side of the house is one crew, one price and one warranty.
If your client is not ready for it, we rough in the conduits and leave the provision, which costs almost nothing at frame stage and saves a roof and wall chase later. See our solar and battery and EV charger pages for what that involves.
- Solar and battery, designed and installed in house (SAA accredited)
- Solar and battery conduit provisions roughed in for a later install
- EV charger installation, or provision left ready in the garage
- Three phase supply and switchboards where the load calls for it
- Structured data cabling, fibre backbone, racks and patching
- Cable tray, ladder and containment on industrial runs
- Standby generator and UPS provisions, changeover and essential services
- Motor circuits, variable speed drives and control wiring
- Data, NBN and communications cabling
- Air conditioning circuits and mechanical services power
- LED lighting layouts and dimming
- Smoke alarm compliance to the current QLD rules
- Ceiling fans, outdoor and landscape lighting
- Switchboard upgrades on renovation work
Everything Your Office Needs On File
Copy it straight into your subcontractor record. Certificates of currency are emailed the same business day you ask.
Licence 92489 is a Queensland Electrical Contractor Licence issued by the Electrical Safety Office. Electrical work does not require a QBCC licence, and we do not hold one. We work as your electrical subcontractor under your building licence.
Questions Builders Actually Ask
Answered plainly, including the one about QBCC.
Do you take on new build electrical work for builders?
Yes. New homes, duplexes, townhouses, granny flats, sheds and commercial fitouts, from temporary builders supply through rough-in and fit-off to energisation and certificates. We work as the electrical subcontractor to the builder, on your program and under your site rules.
Do you hold a QBCC licence?
No, and electrical work does not require one. Nuvolt holds Queensland Electrical Contractor Licence 92489, issued by the Electrical Safety Office under the Electrical Safety Act 2002, which is the licence that covers electrical installation work. QBCC's own guidance carves out an electrician carrying out electrical work and refers you to the Electrical Safety Office. We work as an electrical subcontractor under your building licence, which is the normal arrangement.
Can you price off plans?
Yes, that is how most builder work starts. Send the architectural drawings and the electrical layout, tell us the estate and roughly when you need us, and we come back with a written price against the drawings. If something on the plan will not work in practice we tell you before you sign anything, not halfway through rough-in.
Can you hit our rough-in and fit-off dates?
We give you dates we can actually hold rather than the dates you want to hear, and we tell you early if anything at our end moves. Our crew is local to the Sunshine Coast, so we are not driving in from another region and losing half a day to traffic. Talk to us about your program before you lock in the trades that follow us.
What compliance paperwork do we get at handover?
A certificate of testing and compliance for every job, issued digitally with the per-circuit test readings recorded rather than a tick in a box, plus photo records captured against the job. Where relevant we also supply smoke alarm compliance, emergency and exit lighting documentation and RCD test results, so your handover pack is complete on the day.
Are you insured, and can you supply certificates of currency?
Yes. We hold $20 million public liability and a current WorkCover Queensland policy, and we can email certificates of currency for both the same business day you ask. Our licence number and ABN go on every quote and invoice, so your subcontractor file can be completed up front instead of chased later.
Do you arrange temporary builders supply and site power?
Yes. We organise the temporary supply and the connection application early in the program so the trades after us are not working off extension leads or a neighbour's power, and so your site is not held up waiting on the network.
Can you do the solar, battery and EV charger as part of the build?
Yes, and it is one of the main reasons builders use us. We are SAA accredited for solar (GCPV) and battery (GCBS) design and install, so the energy system on a new home is done by the same crew that wired it, with no second contractor to coordinate and no finger pointing if something does not work. If your client is not ready for solar yet, we can rough in the conduits and leave the provision so a later install is straightforward.
Do you do industrial and warehouse electrical work?
Yes, and it is where a lot of our experience comes from. Our crew has worked on power stations, plant shutdowns, high voltage motor overhauls and variable speed drive installations, and that is the same discipline a warehouse or manufacturing build needs: distribution sized for the real load, containment set out properly, motor and control circuits, high bay lighting and three phase to the machinery. Photos of that work are on our gallery.
Can you take on data centre or AI compute room electrical work?
Yes, as the electrical subcontractor on the build. The scope is high density power distribution, cable ladder and tray containment, structured copper and fibre cabling with racks and patching, three phase power to the cooling plant, and standby generator and UPS provisions with the changeover and essential services distribution. It is heavy power and disciplined cabling, which is what we do. Send us the drawings and the load schedule and we will come back with a scope and a price against them. Where a package calls for a specialist alongside us, we say so up front and coordinate them rather than leaving it for you to manage.
Do you install structured data cabling and fibre?
Yes. Copper and fibre backbone, racks, patch panels, outlets, labelling and testing, on anything from an office fitout to a rack row that has to be traceable years later. We run it alongside the power on the same job so the containment and segregation are planned together rather than argued about on site. Our data and communications page covers it in more detail.
How do you handle variations?
Nothing outside the agreed scope happens until it is priced and approved in writing. If a client asks a tradesman on site for extra points, we send it back to you rather than doing the work and putting it on the final claim. That keeps your contract administration clean and your claims undisputed.
Which areas do you cover for builders?
The Sunshine Coast is our home region, including the Aura and Baringa growth corridor, Caloundra, Nambour, Buderim and Noosa, and we work down through Caboolture, North Lakes and greater Brisbane. Larger and scheduled works travel further across South East Queensland. Travel outside the immediate area is priced up front.
