Aiko solar panels, for roofs with shade
Shade handled at the cell instead of switching out a third of the panel, with no separate optimisers to buy.

Shade is the problem that ruins more solar systems than any hardware fault, and it is usually the one nobody mentions until the first summer bill arrives.
The reason is how ordinary panels deal with it. A conventional panel is wired in three sections, each protected by a bypass diode. When shade falls across part of the panel, that diode switches its whole section out, and you lose about a third of the module's output to a shadow that might be covering one cell.
Aiko's ABC cells work differently. A shaded cell enters a non destructive state that lets current pass around it, so the rest of the cells keep contributing. Aiko's own figure is that shading a single cell costs a single digit percentage of the panel's power, and the bypass diode does not step in until four cells are shaded.
The practical result is that a roof with a tree on it, or a chimney, or a gable, stops being a roof that needs separate optimisers on every panel. That is fewer parts, fewer connections and fewer things on the roof to fail in ten years.
Everything above is from Aiko's own datasheet and technical documents, and the panel is on the Clean Energy Council approved modules list, which is what your rebate depends on.
Why we rate it
- Partial shading optimisation built into the cell, so no separate optimisers to buy, fit or replace
- N type ABC (All Back Contact) cells, with the contacts on the rear so nothing shades the front of the cell
- Temperature coefficient of -0.26%/degC, which holds output better than most panels on a hot Queensland roof
- 108 cells, IP68 junction box with 3 bypass diodes, original MC4-EVO2A connectors
- Tested to IEC 61701 salt mist corrosion and IEC 62716 ammonia corrosion
- Hail tested to 25mm hail at 23m/s, and front load rated to 5400Pa
- 21.1kg, lighter than the Tindo, which helps on a two storey lift
- All black, so it disappears into a dark roof
- 30 year performance warranty, with no more than 1% loss in the first year

What you get either way
The panel changes. The rest of it does not.
Designed, installed and signed off by the licensed Queensland electrical contractor who does the work, not a salesperson and a subcontractor.
A certificate of electrical safety on every job, and the rebate and grid connection paperwork handled for you.
Our own work carries a lifetime workmanship warranty (conditions apply), separate from the manufacturer warranty on the panel.
A free estimate within 1 business day of receiving your photos, or a $299 design visit with a written design you keep and a locked in fixed price within 3 business days. No sales call dressed up as a design.
Australian owned and operated. Local crew on the Sunshine Coast. No overseas call centres.
Weighing it against the others?
We install three panels and we will tell you honestly which one suits your roof and your budget.

Built in South Australia. Heavier frame, cyclone tested here, and a warranty that pays you $1,000 if a panel ever needs replacing (conditions apply).

Dual glass, 30 year performance warranty, and the panel in every one of our packages.
See all three side by side or look at the full solar and battery packages.
Where we do this
We install Aiko Solar panels right across the Coast, and these are the suburbs we are in most weeks.
