What counts as an electrical emergency?
If something is sparking, smoking, smells like burning, or has given someone a shock, treat it as an emergency and call us straight away. Complete power outages, exposed or damaged cables, repeatedly tripping breakers, and hot or discoloured power points all fall into the same category, because each one can put your family and property at real risk.
What should I do before the electrician arrives?
Turn off the power at the main switch or the affected circuit if you can reach the switchboard safely, then stay clear of anything sparking, smoking or wet. Do not touch damaged cables or attempt a repair yourself, and keep people and pets away from the area until a licensed electrician has made it safe.
Are you a 24 hour electrician?

We do not do night call-outs north of Nambour, so Noosa, Coolum and Yandina are daytime bookings only.
How much is an after hours call-out, and why do I pay first?
There is a fixed call-out fee, including GST, and we tell you the figure on the phone before you decide. It is one figure for evenings and Saturdays, and a higher one overnight, on Sundays and on public holidays. It covers getting a licensed electrician to you and the first hour on site. You pay it by a secure card link we text you while we are on the phone, and then we leave. Anything beyond the first hour, and any parts, are priced and agreed with you before we do the work. If you cancel before we leave, or we cannot get to you, you get a full refund.
I rent, or I live in a unit block. Do I pay?
Not if your property manager or body corporate manager has us as their electrician. Tell us the agency or manager when you call, and we bill them, not you. On site we make it safe, and anything more than that is quoted to the agency for the owner's or committee's approval before we do it. How fast can you get to me?
We give you a realistic arrival time on the call, based on where you are and what else is happening that night. Because we only take night call-outs between Caloundra and Nambour, the drive stays short.
Is it Energex or is it you?
If someone is hurt or there is a fire, call 000 first. Wires down, or a tingle or shock from a tap or anything outside: call Energex emergencies on 13 19 62 and stay well clear. If the whole street is dark, it is an Energex outage: call 13 62 62. If it is only your place, or something in your house is sparking, smoking or tripping, that is us.
My battery did not keep the lights on in the blackout. Can you help?
Yes. A battery only powers the house in a blackout if backup was set up for it, and inverters and batteries can fault after a storm. We work on solar and battery systems every day, so we can tell you on the phone whether it is a setting, a fault, or something that needs us there.
Will I get a price before any work starts?
Yes. We assess the fault and give you a fixed, upfront price before any work begins, so there are no hidden fees and no surprises. You decide whether to go ahead once you know the cost.
Can you find the cause of a fault you cannot see?

My power keeps tripping. Is it dangerous to keep resetting the switch?
A breaker or safety switch that keeps tripping is doing its job, and repeatedly resetting it can be dangerous because it is protecting you from a fault. Stop resetting it and give us a call so we can find out why it is tripping rather than just forcing the power back on.
We had storm or flood damage near the coast. Can you help?
Yes. Storm and flood damage is one of the most common emergencies we attend, and living near the coast on the Sunshine Coast means salt air, moisture and severe weather take a toll on switchboards, cabling and outdoor fittings.
